Dearest Homo Sapiens...

Dearest Homo Sapiens,

Do you know who am I? I am Earth. And I am not here praise you for your inventions. I'm here to ask you some questions. And I am asking these questions and giving warnings from the decades. But you are not listening at all. For millions of years, your species is living on my surface. And I'm observing you from the beginning. As you evolved more, you are being more destructive. Of course, I'm happy that some of you are trying to save me. But what about others?

I'm happy that you celebrate Earth day every 22nd April, at least once a year... you remember me. But the rest of the year, you keep forgetting me. You think recycling plastic may be the solution. But have you ever thought about reducing the usage of it? You invent self-driving cars, but why don't you care about alternate solutions for petroleum products? You teach the next generations about preserving nature, but you never think you're destroying me every minute. You blame me for my warnings... floods, tsunamis, tornados, droughts and you aren't getting the point that it's a warning and you are the reason. Many of you think your kind is controlling me. How funny... you never understand that you are not the only one who is on earth. You won't understand that your lives are dependent on me! You never understands that nothing will happen to me if you goes extinct. Just like dinosaurs, you'll be in the list of extincted animals. If you extincts, then some other organism like you will evolve after many million years. But you? 

You are launching satellites to my neighboring planets. I'm not saying that it's wrong. But have you ever thought of me? have you ever thought of your home Earth? You think about building homes on Mars. But why don't you understand that your own home is on fire?  Many of you always criticize the ones who are trying to raise awareness about climate change between your people. Have you ever thought of me while overusing my resources? Have you ever thought of me while killing other animals for your coats and jewelry?  Have you ever thought of me while dumping your waste in oceans?

You care very much about GDP rates and the economy. But why don't you care about the next generations? Why don't care about your planet? You created Paris Agreement 5 years ago, Of course, it's a good thing and I appreciate it. But I am not seeing any major acts by you humans. What happened to your agreement? You can't find a solution only by making agreements. You must change your habits. 200,000 years ago you were just evolving. I was amazed by your evolving speed. But sadly, now I am ashamed of you. You think you are the smartest on the earth. Are you? I don't think you are. If you were the smartest, you might choose the wiser option, changing! But you didn't. While you are running behind money, you never think about your next generation's future, Your earth's future! 

While you are listening to your leaders, why can't you listen to the scientists who are saying the truth about climate change? They are giving you solutions and you are neglecting them. While fighting for physical boundaries, starting wars and bombes, why can't you create peace between your physical nations? If you can create deadly weapons, can't you change your lifestyle a bit? When Covid -19 was introduced, the whole thing changed temporarily. The whole thing changed. It was like a revolution. The hole in the ozone healed. The carbon emissions were reduced immediately. No flights flew in the sky. You were afraid of coming out. You, humans, thought twice before buying something. You learned not to be greedy. You learned the importance of me. But now after 9 months, you are being the old same humans again. Your new normal is ending and your abnormal normality is back again. You are forgetting everything you learned in the covid crisis. Very few people of your kind have changed. But most of you are the same humans again. The greedy humans, the humans who are destroying, the humans who are fighting for boundaries again, the humans who never changed!

If you won't change, you will be the only one responsible for my end! I have sent you many warnings. But you are ignoring it. Don't act as you changed only on earth day and environment day. It is already time to change. Only 12 years left if you count 2020 too. 2020 is ending. At least,  try to change your habits in 2021. 

1. Be a green customer. Stop over consumerism. 

2. Use fewer petroleum products.

3. Use alternatives like solar energy and electric energy.

4. Restoring forests. 

5. Stop wasting energy. 

6. Stop wasting water.

There are many solutions except these. Your human scientists already gave you the solutions. You humans'  future and my future is in your hands. Change humans!
