"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it .  - Robert Swan  ಭೂಮಿಗಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಎಂದರೆ ಅದು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರು ಉಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಭಾವ - ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ಸ್ವಾನ್      ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹದ ತಾಪಮಾನ ಎರಡು ಡಿಗ್ರೀ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದರೆ ನಮಗೇನಾಗಬಹುದು? ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಂದರೆ ಸಣ್ಣ ಜ್ವರ ಬರಬಹುದಷ್ಟೇ. ಆದರೆ ಭೂಮಿಯ ತಾಪಮಾನ ಇನ್ನೂ 2  ಡಿಗ್ರೀ Celcius ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದರೆ..? ನಾವು ಮತ್ತೆ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಸುಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತರಲಾರದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿಬಿಡಬಹುದು! ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮಟ್ಟ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ, ಅನೇಕ ದ್ವೀಪಗಳು ಮುಳುಗಿ ಹೋಗಬಹುದು,ಕರಾವಳಿ ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗಬಹುದು. ಪ್ರವಾಹ ಗಳು (ಇನ್ನೂ) ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಬಹುದು.ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನೂರಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಆಗುವಂತದ್ದಲ್ಲ.  ಈಗ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವಂತದ್ದು. ಭೂಮಿಯ ತಾಪಮಾನವನ್ನು 1.5  ಡಿಗ್ರೀ celsius ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ.     ಇದೇ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೇ   ಪ್ಯಾರಿಸ್ ಅಗ್ರೀಮೆಂಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು .ಈ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಸ್ ಅಗ್ರೀಮೆಂಟ್ ಗೆ ಈಗ 5 ವರ್ಷ. 5 ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಮೊನ್ನೆ ನ್ಯೂಸ್ ಚಾನೆಲ್ ಒಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವೊಂದು ಪ್ರಸಾರವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಇದೇನಿದು ಎಂದು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಸ್ ಅಗ್ರೀಮೆಂಟ್  ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಹುಡುಕಿದೆ.ಹೀಗೆ ಹುಡುಕಾಡುವಾಗ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು #Fightfor1Point5 ಚಳುವಳಿ. ಮೊದಲು ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು

Photo by Sacha Styles on Unsplash   ‘’ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ  15 ಬೆಕ್ಕಿನ ಜಾತಿಯ ಸಸ್ತನಿಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತವೇ. ನಮ್ಮ ಊರಿನ ಬಳಿ ಕಾಣುವ ಚಿರತೆ,ಹುಲಿ  ಕೂಡಾ ಇದೆ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವಂತದ್ದು…ನೇಹಾ? ನೇಹಾ?’’  ಸಸ್ತನಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪಾಠ  ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಟೀಚರ್  ನೇಹಾ ಏನನ್ನೋ ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದದನ್ನು  ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಹಗಲುಗನಸು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನೇಹಾ ಗಾಬರಿಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಳು. ‘’ನೇಹಾ.. ಏನು ಯೋಚಿಸ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀಯಾ?’’ ಟೀಚರ್ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದರು. ‘’ ಎ-ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲಾ’’ ನೇಹಾ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೆದರುತ್ತಲೆ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದಳು.  ‘’ಸರಿ ಹಾಗಾದ್ರೆ, ಈಗ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳು... ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬೆಕ್ಕಿನ ಜಾತಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿವೆ?’’ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಠೋರವಾಗಿಯೇ ಕೇಳಿದರು.  ‘’ಹದಿನೈದು, ಟೀಚರ್’’ ನೇಹಾ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದಳು.  ‘’ಸರಿ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಪಾಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಮನ ಕೊಡು’’ ಎಂದು ಟೀಚರ್ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಲು ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಪಾಠ ಸಾಗಿತು...  ***** ‘’ನೇಹಾ...ನೀನು ಇವತ್ತು ರಂಜಲು ಹಣ್ಣು ಹೆಕ್ಕಲೆ ಕಾಡಿಗೆ ಬತ್ಯಾ?’’ ಗೆಳತಿ ಇಶಾ ಕೇಳಿದಳು.  ‘’ಬರದೇ ಎಂತಾ ಆಜೇ? ಬರ್ತಿ  ಬಿಡು’’ ನೇಹಾ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ತನ್ನ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಪ್ರಪಂಚಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದಳು.  ನೇಹಾ 12 ವರ್ಷದ ಹುಡುಗಿ.ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನೇಹಾ 7 ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.  ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ನಂತರ ಸುಮಾರು 4 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಇಶಾ ಉಳಿದ ಗೆಳೆಯರೊಡನೆ ಬಂದಳು.  ‘’ನೇಹಾ...   ಹಣ್ಣು

Dearest Homo Sapiens, Do you know who am I? I am Earth. And I am not here praise you for your inventions. I'm here to ask you some questions. And I am asking these questions and giving warnings from the decades. But you are not listening at all. For millions of years, your species is living on my surface.   ಹೆಸರು ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ಹೌದು. ಇದರ ಹೆಸರಿನಂತೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಗುರಿ ಕೂಡ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವೇ. ಇದನ್ನು ನಾನೋರಿಮೊ ಎನ್ನಿ, ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾನೋ ಎನ್ನಿ .... ಏನಾದರೂ ಅನ್ನಿ. ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಏನಂತೀರಿ?  ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಕೋರೋನಾದ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿ  ಹೇಗೂ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಪ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನನಗೆ ತೋಚಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ನಾನು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಬರೆಯಲು ಶುರುಮಾಡಿದ್ದು. ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಇಂಟರ್ನೆಟ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಇರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಒಂದು ಲೇಖನ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು . ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದಂತೆ ಈ NaNoWriMo  ದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ  ತಿಳಿಯಿತು. ಕುತೂಹಲಕಾರಿ ವಿಷಯವಿದು  ಎನಿಸಿತು, ನೋಡೋಣ ಎಂದು ಆ website   ಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆ.                    ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಈ NaNoWriMo ಎಂದರೇನು?:   National  Novel  Writing Month  ಅಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನೀಳ್ಗತೆಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದು ಮುಗಿಸುವುದು ಎಂದರ್ಥ! ಇದು ಮೊದಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದದ್ದು ಬರಹಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಎಂದು. ನವೆಂಬರ್ ನ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ೫೦,೦೦೦ ಪದಗಳಿರುವ ಒಂದು ನೀಳ್ಗತೆಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದರೇ ಅವರು ವಿಜೇತರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕರೆಂದು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ…. ನಮಗೆ ನಾವೇ ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕರು! ೫೦,೦೦೦ ಪದಗಳು ೧೮ ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರಿಗೆ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಪದಮಿತಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಇದೆ ಕಾರ
